Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has instituted a scholarship scheme to reward students in senior secondary schools with excellent grades.
The governor said the scheme is a landmark initiative aimed at promoting academic excellence in secondary schools across throughout Osun State.
He said the initiative will be known as the Imole Statewide Public and Private Schools Students SSCE Scholarship, and will reward the best performing students in the Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (SSCE) in the state.
Gov. Adeleke added that the scholarship, supported by Electronic Collections Group, is designed to recognize and support outstanding students from both public and private schools in all the 30 local government areas of Osun State.

Under the scheme, an award a ₦1million with an additional ₦100, 000 scholarship, awaits each of the best students in both public and private schools per local government.
Beyond individual student awards, the best-performing public and private schools will also be granted a ₦500, 000 educational support fund to enhance their academic programmes.
Furthermore, to recognize the role of educators in shaping academic excellence, teachers of the best students from both public and private schools in each local government area will be rewarded with exciting gift items.
Gov. Adeleke explained that the initiative underscores his administration’s commitment to improving educational standards and foster intellectual growth amongst Osun students.
“I hereby urge teachers and school administrators to prepare their students adequately for the 2025 WAEC/SSCE, and ensure they perform exceptionally well to qualify for the scholarship awards,” he said.
All winners of the scholarship will be officially announced upon the release of the SSCE results.
