Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has approved an upward review of salaries for all ad-hoc staff of the Kwara State Residents Registration Agency (KWASRRA), in a landmark move aimed at improving workers’ welfare and strengthening the agency’s operations.

The Governor’s decision ensures that no ad-hoc staff under KWASRRA will earn below the National Minimum Wage, a step widely seen as a major boost to fair compensation and social justice for temporary workers who form the backbone of the agency’s activities.

Acting General Manager of KWASRRA, Mr. Tajudeen Jimoh, hailed the development, describing it as a reflection of the state government’s commitment to the welfare of its workforce. He noted that the adjustment goes beyond financial relief, stressing that it is also a call for renewed dedication and professionalism among the staff.

“This is not just about salaries; it is about motivation. The Governor has demonstrated that he values the contributions of our ad-hoc staff. It is now their turn to reciprocate by working with greater diligence, professionalism, and commitment to the agency’s mission,” Jimoh said.

He explained that the KWASRRA ad-hoc staff play a critical role in driving accurate residents’ registration in Kwara State, a process that underpins effective planning, resource allocation, and delivery of social services. With improved welfare, the agency believes staff members will be better positioned to enhance efficiency and serve the people of Kwara more effectively.

Observers say the move also reinforces Governor AbdulRazaq’s broader vision of building a motivated public workforce across the state, ensuring that even temporary workers receive fair compensation for their contributions.

For many of the ad-hoc staff, this pay rise marks a new chapter, signaling recognition of their efforts and a promise of better days ahead in Kwara’s drive toward effective governance and improved service delivery.
