Timileyin Ajayi, the 32-year-old gospel singer has pleaded not guilty to the charge of culpable homicide in the murder trial of 24-year-old National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member, Salome Adaidu in Nasarawa State.
Ajayi was arraigned before Justice Simon Aboki at the High Court, Lafia on January 27 and faces getting the death penalty, as outlined in Section 221 of the Penal Code.

The gospel singer was arrested on January 12, 2025, following the murder of Adaidu, who was serving her one-year mandatory national service at Nicon Insurance, Abuja.
The incident occurred when Salome visited Ajayi at his home in the Papalana area of New Karshi in Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.
During a press conference, Ajayi had admitted to killing Salome, whom he described as his girlfriend, expressing no remorse for the act because he believed she was cheating on him.
