Gombe State has announced the construction of more than 150 self-contained rooms to serve as accommodation for National Youth Service Corps members (NYSC) in five remodeled mega schools in the state.
Commissioner for Education, Dr. Aishatu Maigari, disclosed this during a roundtable meeting with the management of the NYSC in the state and employers of corps members.
The meeting, according to him, is geared towards raising awareness about the operational processes of the NYSC in the state.

Dr. Maigari revealed that the first phase of the project has received approval from Governor Muhammadu Yahaya, with additional accommodation planned for other schools to enhance teaching conditions.
She highlighted the strong partnership between the state Ministry of Education and the NYSC, crediting the current administration’s commitment to addressing the welfare needs of corps members.
The NYSC state Coordinator, Mrs. Chinwe Nwachukwu, stated that the meeting was organized to inform stakeholders about the operations of the NYSC scheme.
She expressed gratitude for the support extended to the programme and encouraged continued collaboration to ensure its success.
