The Gombe State House of Assembly has approved a massive N363.7 billion supplementary budget for the 2024 fiscal year, marking a staggering increase of N156.6 billion from the previously allocated budget of N208 billion.
The Trumpet reports that the approval was granted during a plenary session, following a detailed presentation by the House Committee on Appropriation, led by Aliyu Baba Manu, who represents the Gombe North constituency. This significant budget boost is largely attributed to expected funds from statutory allocations, value-added tax (VAT), independent revenue, and other inflows from the Federal Account Allocation Committee (FAAC), estimated to reach N281.2 billion.
The newly approved supplementary budget includes an allocation of over N99 billion for recurrent expenditures, while capital expenditures are set at a substantial N264 billion. According to sources, this increase aims to bolster key development projects and enhance fiscal efficiency across the state.
