The Gombe State Police Command has arrested two suspects linked to a case of criminal conspiracy, housebreaking, and theft, while a third suspect, identified as the receiver of the stolen items, remains on the run.
In a statement released by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Buhari Abdullahi, the arrested suspects were named as Ibrahim Umar, 22, and Usman Abdullahi, 27. The police confirmed that the third suspect, Ibrahim Danmaeiya, is currently at large.
According to the police, the case was reported on February 4, 2025, by Abdulbasid Haruna of Maitama Quarters. He informed authorities that his house had been broken into on February 3 at around 1:00 AM, with burglars making away with valuables worth over N3 million.

Acting swiftly, detectives from the Commissioner of Police’s Monitoring Unit launched an investigation, employing advanced tracking technology to trace some of the stolen items. Their efforts led to the arrest of the two suspects on February 7, 2025.
During the operation, police recovered all the stolen items, which had already been sold for a shockingly low price of just N80,000. The arrested suspects have since confessed to the crime, while efforts are ongoing to capture Ibrahim Danmaeiya, the alleged buyer of the stolen goods.
The police have urged residents to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station.
