The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Gombe State has formally endorsed Bola Ahmed Tinubu as its sole presidential candidate for the 2027 general election, signaling strong early alignment within the party ahead of the next electoral cycle.
The endorsement was unanimously adopted on Tuesday during the party’s state congress convened to elect a new executive leadership that will steer its affairs over the next four years.
The motion was moved by the Chief Whip of the House of Representatives, Hon. Usman Bello Kumo, and seconded by Hon. Abdullahi El-Rasheed, member representing Dukku/Nafada Federal Constituency. The proposal received overwhelming voice affirmation from party delegates, cementing Gombe’s position as a key northern stronghold backing the President.
Addressing party faithful at the congress, Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya described the endorsement as a reflection of appreciation for what he termed “courageous and quality leadership” demonstrated by President Tinubu during challenging economic and governance periods.
“We are equally proud of what the Federal Government is doing under the leadership of Mr. President, especially at this challenging time in our nation’s history,” the governor stated.
He emphasized that leadership requires courage, commitment, and vision — qualities he said President Tinubu has consistently exhibited.
“At no time that we requested support to deliver impactful services to our people that the President did not respond positively. I can proudly say that we now have purposeful leadership,” he added.
Governor Inuwa also highlighted Gombe’s growing political weight within the APC, revealing that the state recorded over 400,000 registered members during the party’s recent e-registration and membership revalidation exercise — ranking 10th nationwide.
According to him, the milestone reflects increasing public confidence in APC-led administrations at both state and federal levels.
The Chairman of the Gombe State APC Congress Committee, Dr. Danjuma Adamu Dabo, disclosed that the state adopted a consensus model for the election of its new leadership. He noted that all consensus candidates were screened and cleared by the national screening committee without objections.
He commended the peaceful atmosphere provided by the state government and party stakeholders, describing the exercise — from ward to state level — as orderly, transparent, and credible.

Governor Inuwa further expressed gratitude to the party’s national leadership, particularly APC National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, for efforts toward strengthening internal democracy and cohesion across the country.
The newly elected state chairman of the APC, Mr. Mohammed Dantata Ndus, described the congress as “historic” and a defining moment in the party’s trajectory in Gombe State.
He pledged to work collaboratively with party stakeholders to deepen unity, energize grassroots mobilization, and consolidate structures ahead of 2027.
“We will function as a team to strengthen partisanship and secure victory for our party at all levels,” he assured.
Outgoing chairman, Mr. Nitte Amangal, expressed appreciation to Governor Inuwa Yahaya, party leaders, and members for their support during his tenure, promising continued commitment to the APC’s success despite leaving office.
A Strategic Signal Ahead of 2027 Political observers see Gombe’s early endorsement as part of broader internal consolidation within the APC as the party positions itself for the 2027 elections. With strong declarations of unity, a consensus-driven congress, and public affirmation of federal-state collaboration, the Gombe chapter has sent a clear message of loyalty and preparedness.
