Chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) in Gombe State, Sani Haruna, has lauded the Gombe State House of Assembly for its commitment to the state’s development.
The chairman who doubles as the Chairman of Gombe Local Government Area, made the commendation during the opening ceremony of the 2025 local government budget defence at the assembly complex.
Addressing lawmakers, the chairman commended the assembly for its swift passage of the 2025 state budget, which has been signed into law by Governor Mohammadu Yahaya.
He emphasized that their dedication would be pivotal in ensuring grassroots development across the state.

He also extended recognition to the Speaker of the House, Abubakar Luggwrewo, for his leadership role in ensuring the budget reflects the needs and aspirations of the people of Gombe State.
The ALGON state chairman assured the assembly, that local governments would work closely with the state government for the effective implementation of the budget.
Key focus areas he stated, are education, healthcare, infrastructure, and economic development.
While expressing appreciation for the lawmakers’ dedication, he urged them to expedite the passage of the 2025 local government budgets proposal to facilitate sustainable growth and progress at the grassroots level.
