Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu, Femi Gbajabiamila, has emphasised the importance of unity and nation-building as he hosted former Southern lawmakers to discuss Tinubu’s “Renewed Hope Agenda.”
He stated that “Today, I convened the National Forum of Former Legislators Southern Summit at the June 12 Cultural Centre in Abeokuta, where ex-lawmakers from various parties and regions united to discuss the need for unity, nation-building, and the achievements of the Tinubu administration.
“This gathering provided an opportunity to inform my former colleagues in the legislature about the policy reforms of this administration. “The summit recognized the relevance and importance of these former lawmakers in the senatorial districts and constituencies they once represented.
“It demonstrated a shared commitment to national unity, justice, and fairness for Nigeria’s progress, bringing together distinguished leaders to pledge their full support for necessary reforms that advance the country’s interests.”
According to him, the Renewed Hope Agenda includes eliminating inflated subsidy claims, establishing the Nigerian Education Loan Fund to ensure access to tertiary education, and implementing tax reforms for greater fairness and accountability.
These actions, he said, are meant to benefit not just the present but also the future, with the well-being of Nigerians and the next generation in mind.
