Former Super Eagles winger Okwuchukwu Waobikeze has sadly passed away.
His brother, Eli Waobikeze, confirmed the news on Monday, July 14, through a post on Facebook.
He shared that Okwuchukwu, also known as Allen, died peacefully around 7:34 pm.
In the statement, Eli expressed gratitude for everyone who supported Okwuchukwu during his life, saying, “we appreciate everyone who prayed, called, and visited my brother.

Waobikeze, affectionately nicknamed ‘Babaoo’ by fans, was celebrated for his impressive skills on the football field, especially as a left winger.
Throughout his career, he played for several Nigerian clubs, including Sharks FC, BCC Lions, and Iwuanyanwu Nationale, which is now known as Heartland FC.
His passing comes shortly after the loss of another former Super Eagles player, Peter Rufai, who was the team captain and goalkeeper during the 1990s.
