Operatives of Lagos Rapid Response Squad (RRS), have reportedly engaged dare-devil armed robbers in a gun duel, which forced them to flee the scene, abandoning a Toyota Highlander, locally made cut to size double barrel gun with three live cartridges, a dog (American Eskimo breed) and jewelry.
The incident which occurred at Agbado area of Lagos caused pandemonium among resident of the area as they scamper for safety following gun shot that rented the air from both police and the robbers.
During search on the vehicle marked AGL 276 AQ, two HP laptops, one NEC laptop, one LG TV, one iphone 12 Pro max, one Elepac generator, two kitchen knives were found in the vehicle.
The armed robbers had enter into Lagos around 2:20 a.m. from Abeokuta the Ogun state capital before they were accosted by men of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) officials who were on routine patrol around Adura Bus Stop, Alagbado. On sighting the police operatives the robbers release gun shots but the police reply heavily this force the four occupant of the vehicle to come down and fled the scene, The Trumpet gathered.
Preliminary investigations have revealed that the robbers had gone to Abeokuta were they carried street to street robbery going from house to house before they encounter the police men.

The Commander Rapid Response Squad (RRS) Olayinka Egbeyemi a Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) have directed the Decoy team of the squad to commence investigation into the case with a view to unraveling the owner of the vehicle and the suspects.
The owner of the vehicle has been contacted in Abeokuta, Ogun State. Police are presently gathering more information that would assist in the arrest of the fleeing suspects.
