The Fédération Internationale de Volleyball has formally recognised the re-election of Musa Nimrod as President of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation, affirming the legitimacy of the federation’s recent electoral process and reinforcing Nigeria’s standing within the international volleyball community.
In an official communication dated 27 February 2026 and issued from Lausanne, Switzerland, the FIVB confirmed that the election which returned the NVBF leadership complies with Article 1.6 of its General Regulations. The correspondence, signed by the FIVB Legal Department, stated that the process met all required legal and administrative standards set by the sport’s global governing body.
The confirmation provides a decisive seal of approval on the leadership structure of the Nigerian federation at a time when governance compliance has become central to international sports administration. By aligning its electoral procedures with FIVB statutes, the NVBF has secured continued recognition and participation rights in FIVB-sanctioned continental and global competitions.
The development strengthens institutional stability within Nigerian volleyball and removes any uncertainty surrounding the federation’s executive mandate. With international recognition intact, Nigeria remains eligible for major tournaments, development grants and technical support programmes under the FIVB framework.

Stakeholders within the sport view the endorsement as a critical step toward sustained growth, particularly as Nigeria seeks stronger performances in African and global competitions. The federation also expressed appreciation to athletes, coaches, technical officials, sponsors and partners for their continued support during and after the electoral process.
With the FIVB’s formal recognition now secured, the NVBF leadership is expected to focus on talent development, improved domestic competitions and stronger representation at international events, positioning Nigerian volleyball for greater visibility and competitive success in the years ahead.
