Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has sworn in three new commissioners and a member of the state electoral commission, urging them to uphold accountability and responsibility in the discharge of their duties.
The swearing-in ceremony took place on Wednesday at the Council Chambers of the new Government House in Adamawa State, following the confirmation of the nominees by the Adamawa State House of Assembly on March 9, 2026.
Those inaugurated as commissioners include Sali Idris from Maiha Local Government Area, Engr. Muhammed Suleiman from Mubi North, and Chubado Mohammed from Jada. Also sworn in was Iliya Gaji as a member of the Adamawa State Independent Electoral Commission.
Addressing the appointees, Governor Fintiri congratulated them and charged them to demonstrate integrity, dedication, and a strong sense of responsibility in their respective roles. He said their appointments were based on merit, proven character, and commitment to public service.

The governor expressed confidence in their capacity to contribute to the state’s development, urging them to bring fresh ideas, adopt innovative approaches, and work collaboratively with other members of the executive council to advance his administration’s agenda of inclusive governance and sustainable development.
With local government elections approaching, Fintiri specifically tasked Gaji to work closely with other members of the electoral commission to ensure the conduct of credible and transparent polls.
Portfolios assigned to the new commissioners include Livestock for Sali Idris, Works for Engr. Muhammed Suleiman, and Energy for Chubado Mohammed.
Speaking on behalf of the appointees, Chubado Mohammed thanked the governor for the opportunity to serve and pledged their loyalty and commitment to achieving the administration’s goals.
The oath of office and allegiance was administered by the State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Barrister Afaimu Jingi.
