Adamawa state governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has announced an ambitious plan to uplift 60,000 women and young people in the State.
He said this will be achieved via a N3 billion business grant under the newly launched Fintiri Business Wallet initiative.
According to him, the program aims to foster economic resilience and boost local businesses, injecting much-needed capital into the state’s economy.
He made the announcement at the Government House Banquet Hall in Yola during a courtesy visit from stakeholders of Hong local government council on weekend .
Fintiri, outlined that the grant support would be disbursed before December 2024, creating opportunities and improving livelihoods across Adamawa’s communities.

Responding to concerns about civil servant salary deductions, the governor addressed allegations of unauthorized cuts, clarifying that recent tax deductions were due to the PAYE (Pay As You Earn) tax, implemented after two months of suspension with the new minimum wage adjustments.
Stakeholders from Hong council were observed to have requested for the establishment of the Hoba chiefdom, which Fintiri assured them that the request would be carefully reviewed, with his administration committed to exploring its potential benefits.
The governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to improving the welfare and security of the state, promising.
