Governor Ahamadu Fintiri of Adamawa State has approved the appointment of seven new traditional rulers following the creation of seven new chiefdoms and emirates the state.
Among the newly appointed traditional rulers is Sani Ribadu, who is now the emir of Fufore and is the younger brother of the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu.
Others are Alheri Nyako (Tol Huba); Bulus Gadiga (Mbege Ka Michika); Ali Danburam (Ptil Madagali); John Dio, (Gubo Yungur); Aggrey Ali (Kumu of Gombi) and Ahmadu Saibaru, the emir of Maiha.

A statement released the governor’s spokesperson, Humwashi Wonosikou, stated that selection of the new traditional rulers was based on merit and their popularity within the community.
Gov. Fintiri urged the new traditional rulers to serve fairly, honestly and responsibly.
“Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has authorised the appointment of seven new chiefs and emirs for the freshly established chiefdoms and emirates.
“With these appointments, the total number of chiefdoms and emirates in Adamawa State has now reached 11 and four, respectively,” Wonosikou said.
