All Progressive Congress APC leader and presidential hopeful, Bola Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu has called on the federal government to use every means possible to eliminate terrorism in the country.
Tinubu also called on Nigerians to continue to pray so that those causing mayhem in the country, including kidnappers, bandits, and ruslters, would be brought to justice.
He was speaking in Katsina state when he paid condolence visit to Governor Aminu Masari over the murder of Rabe Nasir, commissioner for Science, Technology and Innovation who was killed in his house in Katsina metropolitan area in December last year.
He was accompanied by several dignitaries, including former Governor of Borno state, Senate Kashim Shetima, former Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, chairman, Nuhu Ribadu, House of Representatives member, Hon. James Faleke, among others.
The APC leader called on Nigerians to be vigilant and to report suspicious movements to security agencies for necessary action.
He also sympathised with the government over the recurring security challenges bedeviled by activities of bandits, rustlers and kidnappers in some parts of the state.
He expressed confidence that evil would not thrive in the country, and that Nigeria will win the war against terrorism and other criminal activities.
“We are here to console with the people and government of Katsina state over the wicked assassination of the Honourable Commissioner of Science and Technology.
“The executive governor has introduced him to me as one of the most reliable and resourceful individual from Katsina, with a very broad knowledge of Nigeria as a country.
“I sympathise with you for the loss. We share in the grief, but only God is the giver and taker of life.
“Evil men may interfere and try to tempt Allah, but He is the giver and He is the taker.
“It has been written as it happened. Don’t let your faith in God Almighty be shaken.
“These are temptation coming from evil and evil doers. This is a very trying period for the state.
“Please, whatever happens to one of us happens to all of us.
“Let us be vigilant. Let us be help our country. Let us preach peace and a change of mind to those who are determined to bring terrorism, kidnapping and evil doing to our midst, to stop and embrace peace.
“We urge the federal government of Muhammadu Buhari as the commander in chief of the armed forces, to use all means necessary to eliminate these people.
“It’s not easy to get to the seed of a palm karnel, as they say in my native Yoruba land; it’s with a cracker.
“And we are going to support the president until he gets the cracker to get the seed of evil out of the entire territory of Nigeria.
“We’ll continue to pray with you to conquer these evil of sudden kidnapping, maiming and killing of innocent lives.
“Nigeria will win the war. Evil will not thrive.
Governor Masari, on his part, said security situation in the state has greatly improved, he thanked the concerted efforts by security agencies in tackling the problem.
Masari who commended the APC leader for the visit, said the security situation and other related challenges can be tackled with good and purposeful leadership.
