The federal government has announced a 14-month timeline for the completion of the Abuja-Kaduna-Zaria-Kano Road project.

Speaking during the inspection, Idris reaffirmed President Bola Tinubu’s resolve to ensure the project is completed within the stipulated timeframe, emphasising that no contractor will be allowed to delay the project.

“Mr. President is extremely determined to see to the completion of the construction of the Abuja-Kaduna-Zaria-Kano road project and has insisted that this work must be completed.

“We will not allow any contractor to hold us to ransom on this project or any other project. We do not have the luxury of waiting another three years for this road to be constructed,” Idris stated.

Umahi confirmed the 14-month target, expressing confidence that the project will be delivered within the set timeline. Idris commended the dedication and enthusiasm of all stakeholders involved in the project.

“For those politicizing this road project, please keep politics aside,” Idris said, adding that “this road is there to be constructed. President Bola Tinubu is determined that this major artery linking the federal capital territory to Kano and other states will be completed. Nothing is going to stop it.”

The minister assured Nigerians that the progress of the project will be closely monitored and regular updates provided. He also highlighted President Tinubu’s unwavering support for the ministry of works to ensure the successful delivery of the road.

“We salute the determination of the Minister of Works, Senator Dave Umahi, the permanent secretary, members of his team, the National Assembly, and all other stakeholders. The president has given them every support that they require. In the near future, we will have a fully completed and brand-new road linking Abuja to Kano,” Idris added.
