The federal government has delivered on its commitment to provide housing and land to the Super Eagles following their second-place finish at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Côte d’Ivoire.
The Nigeria Football Federation announced that the players have received official certificates for the houses and land plots promised by President Bola Tinubu.
According to the NFF, the documents were presented to the players at their training camp in Fez, Morocco.
Nigeria secured the runner-up position at the AFCON tournament, held in 2024, after a 2-1 defeat to the host nation, Côte d’Ivoire, in the final.

Upon the team’s return from the tournament, Tinubu hosted the players at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, to celebrate their achievements.
During the event, the president awarded each squad member the national honor of Member of the Order of the Niger.
He also announced that every player would receive a plot of land in the Federal Capital Territory and a housing unit as a reward for their dedication and performance in the tournament.
The fulfillment of this promise has been positively received as a gesture of gratitude for the Super Eagles’ role in boosting national pride.
