Selected candidates will have the opportunity to study in the United Kingdom, Germany, France, and Malaysia.

This announcement was made on Monday via a post on X by the office of the special adviser to the president on social media.

The PTDF on its website, said the scheme is available for MSc and PhD candidates pursuing courses related to the oil and gas industry.

Successful applicants will receive full tuition coverage, return flight tickets, accommodation, a living allowance, health insurance, and bench fees if necessary.

The PTDF stated that the overseas scholarship aims to provide students with access to high-quality education, advanced research facilities, and international exposure, while also helping Nigeria enhance its local capacity in the oil and gas sector.

For PhD candidates planning to study in the UK, the scholarship will follow a split-site format, with research conducted between the College of Petroleum and Energy Studies in Kaduna and selected partner universities in the UK, including Robert Gordon University, University of Strathclyde, and University of Portsmouth.

The agency emphasized that the scholarship is highly competitive, and only candidates with strong academic backgrounds and relevant research interests will be chosen.

Evaluation will be based on academic achievements, research proposals, professional affiliations, and relevance to the oil and gas sector.

MSc applicants must possess at least a second-class lower degree, have completed their NYSC, demonstrate basic computer skills, and hold five O’Level credits, including English Language and mathematics.

PhD applicants are also required to submit a research proposal not exceeding five pages.

PTDF cautioned that all applicants must have a verified National Identity Number prior to applying.

Submitting multiple applications or false documents will result in automatic disqualification.

Applications must be submitted online via the PTDF scholarship portal, with a deadline of February 27.
