Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), George Akume, says the federal government is intensifying efforts to secure the country and needs stronger support from regional and international partners to defeat terrorism.
Akume made the remarks in Abuja during a courtesy visit by a delegation of the Charismatic Bishops Conference of Nigeria led by Archbishop Leonard Kawas.

He stated that the Tinubu administration is committed to protecting citizens and stabilising the country.
According to a statement issued by the Director of Information and Public Relations, Segun Imohiosen on Saturday, the SGF stressed that the fight against terrorism requires global cooperation.
He said the government is already working closely with key stakeholders, including traditional rulers, religious leaders, business groups, and political actors, to build a safer and more united nation.
Akume appreciated the bishops for their vote of confidence on the Tinubu’s administration and urged religious groups to continue praying for peace, progress, and national stability.
