The Federal Government has officially extended the deadline for applications into the Federal Civil Service, granting job seekers an additional week to apply. The new deadline is now set for March 17, 2025, replacing the previous cutoff of March 10.
The Federal Civil Service Commission (FCSC) had initially announced the recruitment exercise on January 27, 2025, opening opportunities for over 70 positions across various ministries, departments, and agencies. However, the process was marred by widespread complaints from applicants who faced technical challenges accessing the recruitment portal.
Following mounting pressure from frustrated applicants, the commission acknowledged the difficulties but clarified that some individuals were still able to complete their registrations. In response to the outcry, the FCSC officially announced the extension in a notice published in two national newspapers and shared by its spokesperson, Hassan Taiwo.

With thousands vying for a chance to secure federal employment, this extension provides a critical lifeline for those who were previously unable to submit their applications. The Federal Government’s decision underscores its dedication to ensuring a fair and inclusive hiring process, giving more Nigerians a shot at securing a coveted civil service position.
