The Women Affairs Secretariat of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has announced plans to adopt the Pathfinding model as a strategic approach to ending violence against children across the FCT.
The Mandate Secretary, Mrs. Adedayo Benjamins-Laniyi, made the announcement on Wednesday in Abuja during the sidelines of the two-day ministerial-level Regional Meeting of the Pathfinding Global Alliance on Ending Violence Against Children.
The Pathfinding Global Alliance is a global initiative that unites countries and stakeholders committed to eliminating all forms of violence against children by the year 2030, in alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Benjamins-Laniyi emphasized that the adoption of the Pathfinding model represents a critical step forward in FCTA’s mission to protect vulnerable children and promote safe environments for their growth and development.
“We are determined to align with global standards and best practices to ensure the protection of every child within the FCT. This model offers us a proven framework to accelerate our efforts,” she stated.
The Pathfinding Alliance offers member states a collaborative platform to exchange data, share best practices, and demonstrate tangible progress in combating child abuse, neglect, and exploitation.
By joining the alliance, the FCTA is expected to leverage evidence-based strategies, cross-sectoral partnerships, and community-driven interventions to prevent and respond to violence against children more effectively.
