The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has appointed Mrs. Nancy Nathan as its acting head of service following the sudden death of Mrs. Grace Adayilo, who held the position until last Monday.
A statement signed on Tuesday by the Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media to the FCT minister, Lere Olayinka, said Nathan’s appointment takes immediate effect, pending the choice of a substantive replacement.
Before her elevation, she served as permanent secretary of the Youth Development Secretariat of the FCTA.
She also previously worked as the director of finance and administration in the office of the FCT minister.
Her predecessor, Grace Adayilo, reportedly died last week after a brief illness, throwing the FCTA’s top bureaucracy into mourning.

The statement reads in part: “Mrs. Nancy Sabanti Nathan, has been appointed as acting head of service of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA).
“She was appointed in an acting capacity, pending the appointment of a substantive head of service. The appointment takes immediate effect.”
Nathan now becomes the top civil servant in the FCTA at a time when the administration is grappling with restructuring and heightened demands for improved service delivery in the nation’s capital.
