Operatives of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command have arrested two suspected armed robbers following a swift response to a distress call during a robbery incident at Royal Court Estate, Jahi II, Abuja.

This was disclosed in a press release signed by the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, and made available to journalists on Sunday.

The police said incident occurred around 3:20 am on March 27, when officers from the Mabushi Division arrived at the scene and were engaged in a gun duel by the armed robbers.

The statement added that the police overpowered the suspects with superior firepower, forcing them to flee with gunshot wounds.

“A hot pursuit led to the arrest of two suspects identified as Rabiu Jubril and Ibrahim Isa, both residents of Tipper Garage, Jahi.

“Recovered from the suspects were two locally made firearms; three suspected stolen vehicles; a black Toyota Matrix with registration number NBS 348 CP, black Toyota Venza with registration number ABJ 105 AV, and a grey Lexus IS350 with registration number RSH 295 CB, multiple electronic devices, including: two MacBook Pro laptops, one Lenovo laptop, one iPad, one PS4 gaming console, one Canon IP1224 camera and one drone camera

“The suspects are currently in police custody and will be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations,” the police said.

The FCT Commissioner of Police, Ajao Adewale, urged residents to adopt proactive security measures, particularly by installing tracking devices in their vehicles to aid recovery in cases of theft or robbery.

The police also called on residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity through the following emergency numbers, 08032003913, 08033111911, or 07057321547.
