The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has officially welcomed Commissioner of Police (CP) Ajao Saka Adewale as its new leader.
CP Ajao assumes office as the 33rd Commissioner of Police in the FCT, taking over from Assistant Inspector General (AIG) Olatunji Disu, who was recently elevated and redeployed.
The change of leadership took place on March 26, 2025, with CP Ajao bringing over 30 years of policing experience to his new role. A seasoned law enforcement officer, he has served in various capacities across different police formations in Nigeria.
Born on November 28, 1968, in Boripe Local Government Area of Osun State, CP Ajao obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Geography Education from the University of Ilorin before joining the Nigeria Police Force on June 10, 1994. His early training took place at the Nigeria Police Academy, now in Wudil, Kano.

Over the years, he has held key positions, including Commander of the Surveillance Squad in Akwa Ibom, Deputy Commissioner of Police at the Lagos Airport Command, and Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in multiple locations across Lagos, Benue, and Oyo states. His expertise spans tactical operations, crime investigation, intelligence-led policing, and community engagement.
CP Ajao has also undergone extensive professional training, including courses on leadership, tactical command, community policing, and crime scene investigation. Notably, he participated in the FBI’s Scene of Crime Examination & Preservation Course.
Upon assuming office, CP Ajao reaffirmed his commitment to maintaining law and order, protecting lives and property, and strengthening police-community relations in line with the vision of the Inspector General of Police.
The FCT Police Command has urged residents to support and cooperate with CP Ajao as he leads efforts to enhance security across the Federal Capital Territory.
