Former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, on Sunday paid a courtesy visit to former President Olusegun Obasanjo at his residence in Abeokuta, Ogun State, ahead of his 65th birthday on November 15.
Photos from the meeting, shared on X (formerly Twitter) by Lere Olayinka, the Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication and Social Media to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, showed both men in a relaxed and cheerful mood.
In one of the photos, Obasanjo, dressed in white traditional attire and a green cap, was seen playing Ayo, a popular Yoruba board game, while Fayose watched and smiled.

The meeting has drawn attention from political observers, as it appeared to signal a reconciliation between the two leaders who had been at loggerheads for years. Fayose and Obasanjo had publicly criticized each other during and after their respective tenures in office.
The visit comes as part of a series of goodwill gestures towards the former governor ahead of his 65th birthday. Fayose recently received a visit from former Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, who also congratulated him on his upcoming milestone.
Although details of Fayose’s discussion with Obasanjo were not made public, sources close to the former governor described the visit as “purely a private and friendly engagement.”
