‘Fathers of faith’ not paid to support PDP guber candidate in A’ Ibom – Apostle Okoriko

The Founder/President of Solid Rock Kingdom Church and one of the ‘Fathers of Faith’ in Akwa Ibom, Apostle Okoriko has said that men of God were not paid to support the governorship candidate of People Democratic Party Pastor Umo Bassey Eno on March 11, gubernatorial and state Houses of Assembly elections in the state.

Speaking after the monthly interactive service in Uyo Akwa Ibom state capital on Sunday, Okoriko said the Fathers’ of Faith decided to support Pastor Umo Eno knowing that as a man of God, he will surpass his predecessor Governor Udom Emmanuel in infrastructure and economic development in the state.

Fathers of Faith is a conglomeration of Founders of prominent churches coming together to give spiritual backing to government and provide necessary advice to government activities in the state.

But last week, there were rumours making rounds by opposition parties that the group were given financial inducement by Governor Udom Emmanuel to support the governorship candidate of PDP in the state.

Okoriko after Interactive Service on Sunday on the theme ” Which’s the Current Redemptive Name of God in the Church Dispensation ” said the churches decided to come together for Pastor Umo Eno considering the spate of insecurity that engulfed the state during the immediate past administration.

He dismissed insinuations that Christians have no business in politics adding that development is determined by interface with politics.

” Politics decides how the status of society in terms of development as well provisions of amenities. Therefore, Christians should not sit back in times of politics especially when it involves choosing leaders.

” I have not received any amount of money from either pastor Umo Eno or governor Udom Emmanuel to support his aspirations of his successor. I can also say categorically that the entire Fathers of Faith has not collected money for this purpose”

Okoriko noted that no development can take place under insecurity and hoped that Eno will continue with the peaceful ambience which Udom has brought to the state.

“There was a time foreigners were moving around from Eket to all parts of the state but kidnapping activities could allow them to have such freedom of movement in the state.

“Akwa Ibom should vote for pastor Umo Eno. If a pastor like me becomes a governor I will walk freely to his office and the entire state would be in peace Good your permanent voter’s card (PVC) and locate your polling unit to exercise your franchise.

” Don’t cause trouble in any polling unit just cast your vote and walk away. ”

He advised Akwa Ibom residents to vote for PDP and pastor Umo Eno for security, peace, employment and economic development of the state.
