An explosion, suspected to be from a planted Improvised Explosive Device (IED), has occurred at the bustling Buni Yadi market in Gujba Local Government Area of Yobe State.
Speaking with our correspondent, residents of yhe community said the explosion happened at about 12:30 PM on Friday, injuring a girl.
Confirming the incident, the spokesman for the Sector 2 Joint Task Force Operation Hadin Kai, Captain Muhammad Shehu, said another IED planted in the market was discovered and successfully detonated by the Army.

The injured girl, at the time of filing this report, is currently receiving treatment at a local health facility in Buni Yadi.
Captain Shehu emphasized that the incident involved a planted IED and was not a suicide bombing.
Buni Yadi, situated 54 kilometers from Damaturu, the state capital, it would be recalled has previously been severely affected by Boko Haram insurgents, who controlled the area for two years.
