Multi-talented Nigerian artist and Grammy winner, Wizkid created a storm in the music scene with his sixth album ‘Morayo,’ an album dedicated to his mother, who died in 2023.
Only a few days after its release, the album smashed records with 17.604 million views on its first day and now retains the record for the biggest streaming day for an African album on Spotify.
Also, the album is the clear favourite, among this week’s all-genre songs on the Billboard music chart, surpassing Kendrick Lamar’s ‘GNX,’ Jack Harlow’s ‘Hello Miss Johnson,’ and other songs.
The album has spent four days in a row in the top 16 on the Apple Music NG list.
Morayo has reached 111.8 million streams across four platforms. On Spotify, it currently has 55,814,003 streams, on Apple Music it has 23,559.845, on Audiomack counts, it has 18,553,448 and lastly on Youtube Music, it has 3,907,000
The potential of a new Wizkid album has been mentioned both directly and indirectly, in all of the Afrobeats discourse, with the musician himself leading the discussions.

This album, which includes 16 gripping songs, demonstrates Wizkid’s versatility as well as his ability to flawlessly integrate many musical influences.
