The return of a former member of the Taraba State House of Assembly, Ken Kaigama, who representing Bali 1 State Constituency to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has been described as a significant boost for the party.
Yusuf Bello, a prominent PDP stakeholder in Bali Local Government Area of the state, in expressing his excitement over the development, urged members of other political parties in the local government and the state to follow Kaigama’s lead.
Speaking to journalists in Garba Chede, Bello praised Kaigama’s decision, calling it a step in the right direction.
“Kaigama is a respected politician who has come back to the party where he truly belongs. We encourage others in opposition parties to return to the PDP, which is a big umbrella ready to accommodate everyone,” he said.
Bello emphasized the importance of unity among party members ahead of the 2027 general elections, stating that Kaigama’s return signals a bright future for the PDP in Taraba State.
“This move is a blessing, not just for Bali but for the state and the country. I urge the party leaders and the governor to warmly embrace him,” he added.
Speaking, Ken Kaigama, who ran unsuccessfully for the Gassol/Bali House of Representatives seat under the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in the last general elections, cited the lack of vibrancy in opposition parties as a key reason for his return to the PDP.
Kaigama described opposition parties, including the All Progressives Congress (APC) as docile, adding that “the APC, despite being the ruling party at the federal level has failed to provide meaningful opposition in Taraba. Since their loss in the last election, they have become irrelevant and plagued by leadership crises.”

He criticized the APC’s inability to engage the state government constructively, stressing the importance of consistent and objective opposition to foster good governance.
Kaigama underscored his commitment to supporting the PDP and contributing to the development of Taraba State, declaring that “my return to the PDP is not just about politics; it is about aligning with a party that prioritizes development. I want to assist the governor in bringing progress to the state rather than staying with opposition politicians who only fight for power during elections.”
He highlighted his efforts to strengthen the party at the grassroots level, including donating an office to the PDP youth vanguard in his ward.
“This is just the beginning. My return to the PDP will help restore faith in the party and bring me closer to the people,” Kaigama added.
