Former President of the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC), Dr. Chris Ekiyor, has described the late elder statesman, Pa Edwin Clark, as the shining light of the Ijaw nation, which has dimmed when the services were much needed.
He said that the shoes the late Clark left behind, would be very difficult to fill.
While commesirating with the Ijaw nation and indeed, Nigerians on the irreparable loss, Dr. Ekiyor recalled that on most occasions when he engaged in discussions with the deceased, he kept talking about being on the departure lounge of life.
He asserted that the nonagenarian was instrumental in bringing up many Nigerians, who have become recognized voices in the Nigerian project.

Ekiyor challenged Nigerians to take up the mantle, and continue from where Chief Clark left off, not minding that his shoes would be too big to fill.
He stressed that Nigerians should endeavour to keep the fire of national unity, and cohesion burning as was preached by Chief Clark.
Also, he charged that the deceased’s legacy of talking truth to power should not be left to flounder, no matter the situation.
Ekiyor called for the repose of the soul of Chief Clark, for his indelible contributions to the development of Nigeria, and its diverse people and cultures.
