Immediate past People Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Solomon Arenyeka, has urged the public to register with the APC, disassociating himself from a controversial message making rounds on social media and other digital platforms, which he claimed is misleading.
The circulating message, which has sparked confusion among party members and the general public, purports that new APC members have been directed not to collect their membership cards, attend party meetings, or interact with existing members. Chief Arenyeka has come forward to categorically debunk this claim, stating unequivocally that he neither authorized nor endorsed such a directive.
In a formal disclaimer issued on Monday, Chief Arenyeka clarified that the statement is entirely fabricated and does not reflect his views or any legitimate directive from the APC leadership. He emphasized that the misleading notice is a calculated attempt to misinform the public and create disunity within the party at a time when the APC is working hard to strengthen its grassroots presence across Delta State.
“For the avoidance of doubt,” Chief Arenyeka stressed, “the registration of new members is currently ongoing unconditionally across the state.” He noted that the exercise is in strict compliance with the directive of the Delta State APC Chairman, Elder Omeni Sobotie, as clearly stated in a public communication signed by the party’s publicity secretary, Valentine Onojeghuo Esq.
