Nigeria’s Minister of Women Affairs, Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, has reaffirmed her commitment to empowering Nigerian girls, declaring that “every girl deserves the chance to dream, grow, and lead.”
The Minister made this statement during her visit to the APC Youth House in Abuja on Friday, where she met with members of the APC Youth Wing, women leaders, and young progressives. The meeting focused on strengthening collaboration in education, empowerment, and leadership development for Nigerian girls.
In his remarks, APC National Youth Leader Dayo Israel commended the Minister for her ongoing efforts to advance the welfare of women and girls across the country. He emphasized the Youth Wing’s continued dedication to gender inclusion and social equity, noting that empowering girls translates into empowering the next generation.
“Empowering girls means empowering the next generation. The APC Youth Wing is building platforms for young women to find their voice and shape their future,” he said.
Delivering her keynote speech, Minister Imaan praised the APC Youth Wing for promoting youth and women participation in party leadership. She called on Nigerian youths to become champions of mentorship and progressive leadership, guided by principles of equality, dignity, and opportunity.

“Every girl deserves the chance to dream, grow, and lead. The Ministry of Women Affairs will continue to build partnerships that protect, educate, and empower girls to reach their full potential. The issue of rape must also be treated with utmost seriousness, it is a national concern that requires a united, multi-sectoral approach,” she stated.
The event featured a lively fireside chat where the Minister shared personal insights from her leadership journey and encouraged young Nigerians to pursue purposeful careers that contribute meaningfully to national growth.
A key highlight of the event was the official launch of the Progressive Young Ladies Network, a youth-led initiative dedicated to mentorship, leadership training, and promoting active participation of young women within and beyond the APC.
