The MainPower Electricity Distribution Limited (MEDL) says technical maintenance works on major Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) power transformers in Enugu have been partially completed.
The Head, Communications of MainPower, Mr Emeka Ezeh, said in a statement on Thursday in Enugu that the works scheduled on October 1, 2025, by the TCN was yet to be completed.
According to Ezeh, MainPower wishes to inform her customers that the power outage that took place Oct. 1 to enable TCN maintenance crew carry out some technical works on their power transformers was partially completed.
He said, “As a result, our Kingsway (Lines 1 and 2) and Emene Industrial (Lines 1and 2) 33KV feeders were restored to service while Trans-Ekulu, Thinkers Corner, Ituku Ozalla, and Ugwuogo 33KV feeders are still out of service.
“The maintenance work is still ongoing and expected to be completed later today.

“Consequently, our customers in Trans-Ekulu, Ugbo Odogwu, NOWAS and environs, Ugbene 2, the entire Abakpa area and Nike communities, National Orthopaedic Hospital, 82 Division, Area Command and Thinkers Corner are currently without electricity supply.
“Other parts without electricity supply due to the ongoing maintenance work included: some parts of Emene, New Haven Extension, Amechi community, parts of Amechi and Agbani Roads, Mayor, Idaw River, parts of Garki, Obeagu, and Akwuke.”
Ezeh, however, said that the company regretted the inconvenience the development might had caused its customers and assuring them that supply would be restored as soon as the maintenance is completed.
“At MainPower, we remain committed to providing satisfactory services to our customers,” he added.
