Enhwe Clan Development Union on the 22nd of June, 2024 elected a new executive at the community Civic Centre to run the affairs of the community.
In the keenly contested election, Dr. Emmanuel Okworigho was declared the winner by the electoral committee chairman Mr. Stephen Ogidibgo as the President General of Enhwe Clan Development Union with 224 votes to defeat his rival Mr. Onoriode Idisi who scored 15 votes.
Also elected are Prince Isaac Ohoror as Vice- President, Chief Michael Omo-Dudu as secretary, Mr Othuke Awila as assistant secretary, Comrade Jabin Innocent as Financial Secretary, Mr Godwin Agbita as treasurer, Mr Agwonigho Edwin Public Relations Officer, Mr. Oyo Simon – Speaker and Mr. Ogidibgo Stephen Auditor respectively.
They were immediately sworn in by the most senior chief in the community present during the election Chief Stephen Okakor.
In his acceptance speech, the newly elected President General of Enhwe Clan Development Union Dr. Emmanuel Okworigho thanked the people of the community for the massive support given to him.
Dr Okworigho assured the people of the community that he would do all he could to bring all the aggrieved persons together to ensure they move the community forward.
He also promised to complete the Enhwe Modern Hospital project his predecessor started, noting that several women had died during childbirth as a result of the lack of medical facilities in the community.
He added that several persons had also lost their lives before they could rush them to neighbouring communities’ medical facilities.

Earlier on the outgoing President General of Enhwe Clan Development Union Chief Mike Ovie Ogodo in an interview with newsmen described the success of the conduct and high turnout of the election as a landmark in the history of the community.
He also said that the election was one of the freest and fairest elections in the community. “It was keenly contested and the most popular candidates were duly elected, he stated.
He enjoined the people of the community to give their total support to the newly elected executive of the union to fast-track the completion of the Enhwe Modern Hospital project.
Meanwhile, the 2nd vice president of Isoko Development Union Chief Dan Odhomo who represented the President General Prof. Chris Akpotu and the Delta State government representative Hon. Emakpor Odogu said as observers of this election they are happy with how the election was conducted.
They enjoined the elected executive of the Enhwe Clan Development Union to maintain the peaceful atmosphere the community enjoyed during the conduct of the election.
