Chiemela Ude, a goalkeeper eligible to play for the Super Falcons, has signed a new contract with European champions Arsenal, extending her stay at the club until the end of the 2026-2027 season.
The English-Nigerian goalkeeper has also been promoted to the club’s U-21 team and is part of the squad heading to their pre-season training camp in Kamloops, Canada.
Arsenal will be pleased with Ude’s decision to remain, especially after the departures of Nigerian players Ayomide and Omotara Junaid ahead of the new season.
In an Instagram post announcing her contract extension, Ude expressed her excitement: “I’m continuing my journey with the club for another two seasons.

“I’m proud to be part of the team and eager to keep pushing, learning, and growing every step of the way. I will definitely miss some of my very good friends who have moved on, and I wish them all the best in their journeys.”
Ude was part of the Arsenal team that won the Capital Women’s Senior Cup last season and also participated in the FA PGA Champions Cup.
She joined Arsenal in the 2021-2022 season after the Gunners triumphed over London rivals Chelsea, West Ham United, and Millwall to secure her signing.
Born in 2008, Ude became provisionally cap-tied to England after playing in a UEFA Women’s U-17 Championship qualifier against the Faroe Islands in October 2024.
