Wealthy entrepreneur Elon Musk has conveyed his regret about certain remarks he posted regarding US President Donald Trump during their verbal exchange on social media.
“I feel sorry for some of the comments I made about President Donald Trump last week.
They were excessive,” he mentioned on his platform, X.
The two became involved in a public dispute after the Tesla founder labeled Trump’s tax proposal a “shameful disgrace.”
His statement followed Trump’s announcement that their connection was finished and that he had no desire to restore their relationship.
The fiscal plan, which features substantial tax reductions and increased defense funding, was approved by the House of Representatives last month and is currently awaiting Senate evaluation.
Musk encouraged the public to contact their lawmakers in Washington to “halt the legislation,” asserting that it could “trigger an economic downturn in the latter half of the year.”
The tech magnate alleged, without support, that Trump is mentioned in undisclosed government documents associated with the deceased sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
The White House dismissed these accusations.

In retaliation, Trump remarked that Musk had “lost his sanity” and hinted at the possibility of terminating his government contracts, valued at around $38 billion (£28 billion).
A considerable portion of that funding supports Musk’s aerospace firm SpaceX.
“I consider it to be a very negative situation because he is extremely disrespectful. One cannot show disrespect towards the presidency,” Trump stated during a discussion with NBC on Sunday.
Over the weekend, Musk removed the majority of his comments, including one that advocated for Trump’s impeachment and another asserting that he assisted in winning the election for him.
Musk had been the foremost contributor to Trump’s 2024 presidential campaign and was viewed as one of the president’s key supporters.
Former Trump aide Steve Bannon suggested that Musk, who hails from South Africa, should be deported.
US Vice President JD Vance expressed his hope that “eventually Elon will return to the fold,” although he acknowledged that it could be challenging since the billionaire went “nuclear.”
Most Republicans have urged the two to mend their differences, while Democrats have observed the conflict unfold.
Their disagreement arose shortly after Musk departed from the Department of Government Efficiency (Doge), after just 129 days in the role.
