At least nine commissioners have tendered their letters of resignation as members of the Delta State Executive Council to pursue their individual political aspirations.
The Delta State Commissioner for information, Mr. Charles Aniagwu disclosed this during a press briefing at government house Asaba on the outcome of the State Executive Council meeting.
Although Aniagwu did not disclosed the names of the commissioners , he said some members of Exco were leaving the cabinet to pursue their 2023 aspirations and wished them well in their future endeavours.
According to him, that day’s Exco may be the last session for members of Exco who had indicated interest to contest in the 2023 general elections.
He said, “It is their desire to go and contest and we wish them well even as the governor has advised all contestants involved in the contest to avoid heating up the polity.”

He noted that Delta State has been very peaceful and the government wants it to remain so even in the course of the electioneering campaign, advising all contestants to maintain a high level of decorum.
He told the aspirants that they should use words recognising the fact that all Deltans are brothers whether in the party at the level of primaries or at the level of the main contest with any other opposition party.
The Information Commissioner observed that what was important was that they recognise that all are Deltans and those aspiring to lead must show leadership by using languages that are in line with what those who are to be called leaders use, The Trumpet gathered.
