The Federal Teaching Hospital in Ido Ekiti, Ekiti State, has a new acting Chief Medical Director following the conclusion of the two-term tenure of Prof. Adekunle Ajayi.
Dr. Olagoke Erinomo, Chairman of the hospital’s Medical Advisory Committee, officially assumed the role of acting CMD on January 1, 2026, promising continuity in the delivery of quality healthcare services.
In a New Year message to hospital staff, Erinomo encouraged resilience and renewed commitment to compassionate patient care.
“We thank God for bringing us this far and trust Him to make this year a good one for every staff member and our beloved hospital. On behalf of the Board and Management, I thank you for your dedication and sacrifice, which have built our reputation as a healthcare family that truly cares,” he said.

Prof. Ajayi, who handed over on December 31, 2025, reflected on his eight-year tenure with gratitude. “It has been a fulfilling and rewarding period, and I am profoundly grateful to everyone for their steadfast support. I wish my successor success as he embarks on this new chapter in the hospital’s leadership,” he stated.
Responding, Erinomo congratulated Ajayi on his achievements, noting that his tenure was marked by breakthroughs and exemplary performance, and wished him well in his future endeavors.
The Federal Government is expected to announce a substantive CMD for the hospital in due course.
