As Muslim faithful across Delta State prepare to celebrate the Eid-el-Kabir festival, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Delta State Command, has deployed 1,145 personnel to ensure a secure and peaceful celebration.
State Commandant, Commandant Mathew Ovye, who made the announcement on Thursday, 5th of June, stated that the deployment is a proactive step to protect critical national assets and infrastructure spread across the state, especially those facilities belonging to the federal, state, and local governments, as well as privately owned establishments vital to the economic well-being of the state and the nation.
According to the Commandant, the operation is designed to safeguard lives and property before, during, and after the celebration. He emphasized the importance of synergy among security agencies and charged NSCDC personnel to collaborate with sister organizations for effective security coverage throughout the period.

He disclosed that personnel for the assignment were drawn from specialized units such as the Counter Terrorism Unit and the Rapid Response Squad. He added that surveillance and patrol activities will be intensified, particularly around strategic infrastructure such as the 2nd Niger Bridge, which will be under 24-hour surveillance. Other identified flashpoints and black spots in the state have also been covered by the deployment plan.
Commandant Ovye reassured Muslim worshippers of adequate security at all prayer grounds in the state. He extended warm Eid greetings to the people of Delta State, wishing them a safe and memorable Sallah celebration.
