The Super Eagles technical adviser Augustine Eguavoen has commemorated with the Leicester midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi, after he made his 200th appearance for the club in the win against Danish club, FC Randers, in the Europa League round of 32 tie.

Ndidi, recorded his name in the scoresheet for the club to celebrate his milestone against FC Randers who have not played a competitive fixture since December.

According to Eguavoen, it was a piece of great news to watch the Nigerian players perform in the clash with FC Randers.

The Nigeria coach, through a post on Instagram, said, “Great to see our boys play yesterday at Leicester. Congratulations to Wilfred Ndidi on his goal and 200th appearance for the club.

Addressing the media, Leicester coach Brendan Rodgers deciphered the strategy they adopted to dislodge FC Randers.

He said the approach adopted by Leicester was to step up the attack while increasing the tempo of the game to score more goals as possible in the first leg tie.

Rodgers said, “That’s the plan, to score as many as you can,” Rodgers said after the first leg of their knockout round play-off tie with their Danish opponents.

“Our idea was to keep attacking, keep the tempo of the game, keep the pace of the game, and the players did that. Randers are in the middle of their season and they’ve come back and got working again.

“I’ve been involved in games like this tonight where it was the other way round, with the opponent being 20-odd games into the season and we’d be playing qualification games. It does make a bit of a difference, but we kept the tempo up, which was important” he added.

The Foxes will hope to sustain this feat as they travel to Denmark to face FC Randers in the second leg clash of the Europa League
