The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has presented a third prosecution witness against Chris Ihebuzo, who allegedly hacked into Access Bank’s database.
EFCC had brought Chris before the Special Offenses Court in Lagos for offenses bordering on stealing, demanding property by written threat, attempt to commit a felony, unauthorized access to computer material.
Other offenses Chris allegedly committed, include unauthorized modification of computer material and unauthorized access with intent to commit and facilitate commission of further offenses.
The trial continued on February 18, 2022, before Justice O.O. Abike-Fadipe of the Special Offenses Court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos, before with the testimony of Mrs. Fatima Umar, the third prosecution
witness, Pw-3.

Ihebuzo, known as the “Access Bank hacker”, following his viral video in which he bragged of gaining access into the bank’s database and extracting data of over 2,000 customers, including their Bank Verification Numbers, BVNs, was arrested by operatives of the EFCC sometime in September 2020.
The bank had petitioned the EFCC and following the conclusion of investigations, a seven-count charge was drafted against him to which he pleaded “not guilty”.
Court has adjourned the matter till March 11 for hearing.
