The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has deployed its operatives across the six area councils of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to monitor the Saturday, February 21, 2026, council elections.
The anti-graft agency said the move is part of its ongoing efforts to safeguard electoral integrity and clamp down on voter inducement and other financial crimes associated with the electoral process.
Executive Chairman of the commission, Ola Olukoyede, directed the deployed officers to maintain strict surveillance across all council areas and ensure that incidents of vote buying and other forms of electoral malpractice are promptly identified and addressed.

According to the commission, operatives have been strategically positioned across the FCT to deter financial misconduct and support the conduct of transparent, credible and accountable elections.
The EFCC reaffirmed its commitment to collaborating with relevant stakeholders to protect the integrity of the electoral process and uphold the rule of law.
