A suspected online fraudster, identified as Osang Usie Otukpa, has been arrested by the operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for internet fraud at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Ikeja.
The suspect was accused of duping 139 Australians to the tune of 8million Australian Dollars.
EFCC Head, Media and Publicity, Dele Oyewale, in a statement on Friday, said the suspect was picked up in a stake- out upon his arrival from the United States of America on December 6, 2024.

Oyewale said in the statement that Otukpa, who goes by five aliases, namely, Ford Thompson, Oscar Donald Tyler, Michael Haye, Jose Vitto and Kristin Davidson scammed the victims by luring them on social media websites to invest in his rogue cryptocurrency investment platform, Liquid Asset Group.
It added that the proceeds of the alleged crimes were routed to his bank accounts through a global cryptocurrency exchange platform.
The suspect will be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations the anti-graft agency said.
