Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Benin Zonal Directorate, have arrested a suspected fraudster, Osagie Destiny Etinosa, over an alleged N11 million scam.
According to the commission, the suspect was apprehended through intelligence gathering after he allegedly posed as a football agent on Instagram, operating under the handle officialking_etto, where he claimed to facilitate trials and contracts with foreign clubs.
The EFCC said Etinosa specialised in linking aspiring footballers with teams abroad, particularly in Europe, but investigations revealed that his claims were fraudulent.

In one reported case, the suspect allegedly obtained N11 million from a victim, Samuel Beke Ohazuruike, with a promise to secure football trials in clubs in Romania and Bulgaria.
The arrangement, however, never materialised, and efforts by the victim to recover his money were unsuccessful.
The anti-graft agency said the suspect will be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.
