The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested 37 suspected internet fraudsters in Ilorin within the past week.
In a statement released on Wednesday, Dele Oyewale, the EFCC’s Head of Media and Publicity, confirmed that the arrests were made by operatives of the Ilorin Zonal Directorate following credible intelligence on fraudulent online activities.

The latest operation took place in the Tanke Oke-Odo area of Ilorin, where 15 suspects were apprehended. Earlier, on Friday, March 22, 2025, the agency had arrested 22 other suspects from various locations, including Tanke, Alao Farm Estate, Yidi Road, and Irewolede.
Recovered items included eight luxury cars, smartphones, and high-end laptops. The EFCC stated that investigations are ongoing and that the suspects will be charged in court upon completion of inquiries.
