The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Monday, arraigned the former Managing Director of the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON), Ahmed Kuru, and the current Managing Director of Arik Air, Captain Roy Ilegbodu, before Justice Mojisola Dada of the Special Offences Court in Ikeja, Lagos.
Also arraigned were the Receiver Manager of Arik Air, Kamilu Omokide, alongside Union Bank Plc and Super Bravo Limited.
The defendants face a six-count charge of alleged theft of properties belonging to Arik Air and abuse of office.

The EFCC alleges that the accused persons conspired to misappropriate assets belonging to the airline, which was taken over by AMCON in 2017 due to its heavy indebtedness.
When the charges which include allegations of diverting properties and funds under the guise of asset management were read in court, the defendants all pleaded not guilty.
Justice Mojisola Dada subsequently adjourned the matter for trial and ordered that the defendants be remanded in custody, pending the perfection of their bail conditions.
