Edo State has officially launched the New Edo Line, a modern fleet of luxury buses aimed at delivering safe, reliable, and dignified travel for residents across the state. The commissioning ceremony drew national attention with the presence of key dignitaries, including the Honourable Minister of the FCT, His Excellency Nyesom Wike, and former Edo State Governor, Senator Adams Oshiomhole.

Described as more than just a transportation project, the New Edo Line signals a powerful shift in the state’s approach to governance, service delivery, and infrastructure renewal. Designed to meet the mobility needs of students, traders, workers, and everyday commuters, the initiative is restoring safety, order, and pride in public transport, long considered a neglected sector in many parts of the country.

Speaking at the unveiling, the Edo State Governor expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, whose Renewed Hope Agenda has continued to catalyze development across the state. He pledged Edo’s unwavering support for the President ahead of the 2027 general elections, declaring that the state is already seeing tangible results from the federal government’s policies and interventions.

“This is not about noise. This is about focused leadership, service, and discipline. In just a few months, we have resisted distractions and delivered real change that impacts lives,” the Governor said. “The New Edo Line is a revolution in public transport, and a testament that Edo is working again.”

The new fleet, characterized by modern luxury buses, aims to not only improve commuter experience but also boost economic activity by ensuring safer, more organized, and efficient travel across the state and beyond.

With hashtags like #PracticalGovernance, #ANewEdoHasRisen, and #NewEdoLine already gaining traction on social media, the launch is rapidly becoming a symbol of progressive leadership and a model for other Nigerian states.

From dilapidated transport systems to a future of dignity and efficiency, Edo State is clearly charting a new course.
