The Governor Francis Nwifuru administration in Ebonyi State has revealed plans to begin project watch campaign to discourage the poor execution of projects awarded to contractors in the state.

Special Assistant to the Governor on Inter-Party Affairs, Comrade Sunday Nwambam, who disclosed on Thursday in an interview, said his office has concluded the plan to launch the project watch scheme in the state.

Nwambam said his office which oversees the affairs of all political parties in the state, will flag-off the campaign with a radio interactive program called Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, FON Project Watch.

The governor’s aide stated that the program would focus on the development projects of executed by the Gov. Nwifuru administration, highlighting his policies and achievements since he assumed office.

He said the radio program has become imperative because the Gov. Nwifuru’s administration programs and projects have been under-reported.

He stated that every community in Ebonyi State has benefited meaningfully from the state government in terms of human empowerment and infrastructure development.

“I marveled over what I saw during the project inspection tour with my colleagues. I never knew that many state government projects are ongoing in the hinterlands.

“If you go there, in Ebonyi North, Central and South, you will see road projects, school building projects, the Ebonyi pipe factory that is now functioning, water projects and the endless human empowerment programs of the governor.

“If I’m not mistaken, it’s obvious that the governor’s development programs and projects are under-reported by the press,” Nwambam asserted.

He explained that his principal runs an all-inclusive administration since assumed office. While citing Gov. Nwifuru’s human empowerment and infrastructure development programs, Nwambam said the programs were positively impactful on Ebonyians across the 171 wards in the 13 council areas in the state.

“This is the only governor whose leadership is all-inclusive because he carries every political party along in the state. His excellency empowers Ebonyians without any political sentiment, and that’s why his political manifesto is anchored on the peoples’ charter of needs. He embarks on people- oriented projects in the state,” Nwambam stated.

He said the radio program will avail individuals, regardless of their political affiliation an opportunity to appreciate Gov. Nwifuru’s transformational projects to ensure optimal performance in the state.

The governor’s aide advised all contractors handling government projects in Ebonyi State to adhere to completion date while delivering quality jobs throughout the state, warning that during the propsed interactive radio program, no party contributing to shoddy project execution in the state will be spared.

He expressed optimism that the administration of Gov. Nwifuru will bring an economic turn-around for the state.
