Renowned Musician and Evangelist, Ebenezer Obey-Fabiyi has dismissed rumours of his death, saying that he is very much alive, healthy, and in great spirits.
The 83-year-old artist shared a video on Tuesday morning, in which he not only addressed the false reports but also performed a live song.
In a mix of Yoruba, English, and pidgin English, Obey sang, “hello, my name is Professor Ebenezer Obey-Fabiyi.
“Satan, you’ve lost! Your lies won’t stand; they are false!”
He followed up with a message to his fans and the public, saying, “it’s fake news that started just a few hours ago, saying that I, Evangelist Obey, have passed away. It is not true. I am alive, and that’s not what Jesus has written for me.”

The death rumour began circulating on Monday and quickly spread online, leading to many fans sharing tributes they thought were heartfelt.
However, his assistant, Tope Olukole, quickly dismissed the claims in an interview with TVC that same evening.
“Let’s be clear: Ebenezer Obey-Fabiyi is alive and doing well! He just recently celebrated a happy occasion, his second child’s spouse turned 50!” Olukole stated.
“Rumors of his death are completely unfounded. We’re happy to see him active and thriving.”
This false news comes just weeks after the beloved musician celebrated his 83rd birthday.
